Big News! The end of this summer's AARP/Blue Zones Walking Moai Program is upon us. All steps, points and hours must be done by August 23 at 8pm in order to count toward the final total. All steps must be reported by coordinators to me by August 26th at 8pm. And the final wrap-up event will be on August 27th...more details coming soon! Read more and add a comment

Our most successful week to date! Up until now our highest week total for steps was 8,361,363, and that was three weeks ago. This week we walked 8,501,617 steps, which brings our AARP/Blue Zones Walking Moai Program total to over 47 million steps! Great work everyone!! Read more and add a comment

Teams in the AARP/Blue Zones Walking Moai Program have walked over 39 million steps. That's nearly 20 thousand miles! And the total number of volunteer hours so far: 627. That's the equivalent of over 2.5 months of full-time work! Read more and add a comment

Five weeks into the AARP/Blue Zones Vitality Project, Albert Leans have walked over 30 million steps, or approximately 15,000 miles. Total number of volunteer hours worked: 471. And "moai points" are gradually growing, with one clear leader in this category: Early Risers with 12 moai points. These numbers are amazing! Read more and add a comment

The totals for week four of the Blue Zones/AARP Walking Moai program. Amazingly, we have 4 teams with over 1 million steps each so far. The leading team, Blood Sweat and Duct Tape, has just over 2 million steps (that's approximately 1000 miles of walking). Read more and add a comment

We have another week of moai walking to add to our totals. Some walking moais have really accumulated steps. Two teams have more than ONE MILLION STEPS! (FYI, the leading team in the steps category has 1,327,483 steps, which is approximately 663 miles!) Read more and add a comment
