To add to that, in all of Roch.'s 80,000 people, Mr. Grosso doesn't have to deal with anyone as negative as MRALBERTLEA, Joe the Plumber or Mark Carlson

Congrats Mr. Nystrom on an incredibly successful journey. Albert Lea sports fans have something to be very proud of, (MRALBERTLEABASHER,Joe the Plumber aside). Our sports success' through the years help small towns personify themselves. Football in the '70's, wrestling through the years, hockey through the years, basketball teams on their upswings (state not many years ago for my roundballers), and other sports that help kids mold themselves. You have been there as an outstanding role model the whole time. Thank you and here is to your continued success!

First off, thanks to the trib for your positive journalism about AL sports. The story about Woodside is great as are ones like this about how are town is perceived. I had some time at work so I started doing some searching. Being more of a round-baller, I was very surprised at how much info there is on the internet about Mn High School hockey. As the previous poster showed, there are many different rankings, and they can all lead different ways. What I don't think he realized was that most of the ones he showed were put out prior to this weekend when it looked like our local puckers had quite a showing. Congrats to the boys and don't let MRALBERTLEA bring you down, most people in town are very proud of you guys along with the fine coaching staff. I also got caught up on the comment section and soon realized that it is really just one guy ripping on your program, boy I sure am glad he is not a b-ball fan! Keep up the good work and volunteer at the YMCA if you have some free time, the kids will love it! Don't let the negativity get to you either, heck, some people even get banned from youth websites.

Mosedart, be careful what you wish for. I have noticed that alot of the same people that are playing in large groups and jumping around are the same people that used to do it when I played at ALCC. With the ownership group being ALCC folk, I can bet you will see the same. It never bothered me too bad because there was never anyone else on the course, but if the new course has as little play as ALCC, the rates will have to be above my expense account. Good luck at Wedgewood though.

Bad management yes. Lets get this group out and a legit group in. The ice time they use was previously open ice. They practice in the early afternoon before our high school kids or our youth organization takes the ice and have increased game time ice while our high school teams and our youth haven't dropped their games played. There are plenty of people that will go watch a good product, but it is not going to happen with this ownership. A quick check with the rink will show that they are payed up to this point. Lets hope the league mandates a change and we can keep a junior team in Albert Lea.
