These tiger tabby kittens were found at an acreage in Clarks Grove after people moved out of their home. They are now up for adoption at the Albert Lea Animal Shelter.
Volunteer Cathy Sprunt cleans the kitten cages at the animal shelter Tuesday as kittens play in all of the cages near her. The shelter is crowded with kittens that were found stranded around the area. There is not an empty kitten kennel at the shelter.
Darcy Sime of Alden calls this photo “Catwalk.” She took it in mid-October when the Albert Lea Lens and Shutter Club took a field trip around northern Iowa/southern Minnesota to take pictures of old barns. “All of the cats on this farm were a shade of orange with beautiful golden eyes, and they had their own catwalk to get in and out of the barn,” she said.
