Time to move on now that Elks is closed

Published Thursday, November 5, 2009

Thank you to the Albert Lea Tribune’s, Tim Engstrom and Sarah Stultz, and the offices of our Albert Lea Elks Lodge 813. You provided information and answered questions that had gone unanswered about the fate of our Lodge in Sunday’s Tribune.

I was proud to be a longtime (paid) employee enjoying (nearly) every minute of my employment. We all worked together as family and for the good of the Elks. We respected the lodge officers and felt their pain when nothing they tried seemed to work.

We all had our reasons on why the Elks failed. Maybe if a statement would have been issued earlier, all the talk would have stopped. We have information now, what’s done is done, so let’s hope and pray we can move on.

Albert Lea Lodge 813 will be missed in our community.
